Try to have more than one source of entertainment at your wedding. It is a very long day for your guests, so apart from the live band at the end of the night, its a good idea to have something at the start of the night.
It can vary from having a string quartet at the meal, playing softly in the background, or maybe a comedian to start off the night.
The fail safe is to have a band followed by a DJ, and no matter what your music choice is, a band that can play a lot of 60's and 70's is a guaranteed winner for the 'older' crowd, then followed by the Dj. Instead of a DJ, try having Irish Dancers performing a 'Riverdance' style show, while the band are taking a break. Another winning option.
